On: Thought Provoking...

People on the streets of DC explain who they think Jesus is. Thoughts?

I'm curious as to how many people they ran into who were actually Christians and could provide an intelligent, thoughtful response. I hope the group we see in this video represents only a small handful of those who were interviewed (and that the remainder at least had a clue). Even so, that there are this many lost and/or uninformed souls out there is tragic. As I watched, I kept getting this overwhelming feeling of sadness and emptiness from these people, who seemed to know so little and care even less.

I think the whole purpose of this, "man on the street," segment was to draw attention to those people who weren't/aren't believers. It's my understanding that the comments from people of faith may have been intentionally excluded--this was a kind of marketing piece for a sermon series on doctrine. As you can imagine, one of the topics addressed was something like, "Who is Jesus?" I was a little floored after watching it too, but (the following is Jenn's attempt to put a positive spin on this) it's hugely helpful with regard to learning the types of conclusions people have drawn about Christ (and how they've drawn them), and the types of questions they have about Him, in order to address these conclusions/questions. I feel you.
