This afternoon, Jon and I decided to take David to the park. We both had a lot of work to do, but we decided that we needed some good family time and David needed to run around outside since it's been so rainy lately. I also thought it would be a great opportunity to take some candid family pics since we were all well rested and well groomed (and by that, I mean not in our
business-super casuals).
After his nap, we got D ready and headed out to our favorite outdoor play area and this is what ensued:
| David got to climb on a giant log--perfect way to start the park experience. |
| This photo is representative of his transition between nouns for the entire hour we were out. |
| As you can see, everyone else had the same idea! This is his, "Isn't this GREAT!?! HURRY UP SO WE CAN PLAY!!!" face. |
| "Wait, those kids have BUBBLES?!? Let's DO this." |
| Captured! |
| Catching our breath before hitting up the playground. |
| I love how our kiddo is fascinated by clouds and other things that occupy the sky. |
| Running to the slides before the other kids beat him to them! |
| Initiating slide count-down... |
| Slide hair!!! This little boy is a slide enthusiast, to say the least. |
| And then we ran some more... |
| Happy to be captured by dad:) |
| And then he was off again.... |
| ... |
| Readjusting... |
| "Do you want to know something, mommy?" |
| "Are you SURE you want to know?" |
| "I think we should run some more!" |
| "First, I will kiss you. But only if it means that you will let me go explore and show the world my velocity." |
| He was beside himself with excitement.... It was like hitting the stick jackpot. |
| Hitchin' a ride with dad back to the car. |
| Escaping (we parked in a field--prime running space). |
| "I got this, dad. One more lap." |
Rosy-cheeked from running amok. Are you surprised to hear that he went to bed in record time tonight?
When you pair an afternoon at the park with a morning of pancakes--that's a good day:) I love days like this. |
